Alright I know we moms are busy ....Yes, even us stay at home moms and if you ask anyone sometimes we are busier... I'm just saying what people have said to me in the past I don't believe one is busier then the other. My point is how do we fit everything in one day and then add training whether it is training for a bodybuilding competition, a 5 k , 10k a half marathon , or even a marathon. I have done two of these and about to finish training for
My first ever half marathon at the end of this month. I have done five 5k's and one 10k before this. I was going to take this year off and try my hand at body building so I bulked up and so I am heavier the. I would like to be before a half marathon. Anyway I can relate to those that think " how can I add one more thing" ( remember I also homeschool) . I will say something that I can not take credit for my mother in law ( best in the world by the way and no she did not pay me to say it ask anyone she rely is the best) she said to me while my babies were still that, babies Krystal you need to walk away make time for yourself if you don't take care of yourself how can you expect to take care of your babies. That was if I need mommy time. I need time to rejuvenate and that way I can be a better mom to my boys. My running or cross training time is mommy time. I want to showy boys that we have one body and God have us this body and we should take care of it body, mind and soul. When I train and treat it as mommy time I am training not only my body but also my mind and believe me when I am exhausted from mommy stuff and have to chug out the miles I am usually praying to that God can get me home. Also joking aside I am looking and reflecting on what God has given me, my family, my body ( even the trouble areas) and the very gift of eternal life and I look out on his creation with wonder. I wonder how anyone can not see that Hods handy work is everywhere. So you see we can say we don't have time for ourselves but they way I look at it if we don't make time for ourselves then we are short changing those around us in how good we can actually be. Think of time for ourselves as therapy . It is much cheaper to go for a walk, run, yoga/Pilates session, spin or lifting class the. Going to see a psychiatrist and for me I don't break out in hives ( white coat syndrome - loooooong story).
